Piam Brown is the Wessex regional children’s cancer ward.

Children come from Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Surrey, Sussex, the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands to receive care on our unit. We cater for children with all types of cancer from birth to 16 years old, so demand on our resources is huge.

Every year we care for around 120 new patients.

The Piam Brown Ward fund (part of Southampton Children’s Hospital Charity) strives to improve the experience of life on the ward for our young patients and their families. Your support will provide:

  • Memories through trips and outings.
  • Equipment for the play rooms.
  • Parent facilities.
  • Patient, family and staff welfare.
  • Research and education opportunity.

Fundraising for Piam Brown Ward provides those ‘extras’ that the NHS cannot.

The pull-out beds so exhausted parents can have a decent night’s sleep and be close to their child; X Box games, DVDs, games and craft for the children and young people; snacks to tempt them when they feel sick; pleasant décor; quiet rooms; kitchen facilities so parents can cook for themselves and their child; trips and outings with family members; and much more.

100% of the money raised for Piam Brown ward is spent to further support all our patients and their families.
